Lemon or Lemonade?

October 22nd, 2023 - March 6th, 2024

Our last renter took Fleetwood all the way to Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon without mechanical issue!!! Praise the Lord! He enjoyed her so much he even extended his trip for a third week.

HOWEVER…

Once he did return Fleetwood she was in shambles. The AC unit was peeled off the roof, the back bumper was bent in on both sides pushing into the fiberglass wall, the upper rear trim was broken, the sides were damages and so much more! His only comment was we should have had a back up camera. We took her right to the repair shop because of the giant hole in the roof and it was October on the Oregon Coast. We found out later that it was at this point our renter canceled his PayPal account and ghosted the insurance company, which thank God he had! This slowed down the process immensely since they wanted his side of the story. In the end the insurance company had to go off the photos we submitted and concluded he was in no less than FIVE ACCIDENTS!

After four and half months, all the back and forth with the insurance company and the repair shop the work was finally completed. Fleetwood was finally home again and looking better than ever.

Well, she was looking great on the outside-the inside was a different story. Since we had rushed to get Fleetwood to the repair shop to keep it from raining on the inside, we did not have a chance to clean or check over anything on the inside. Once we got to cleaning inside there was overwhelming evidence that he drove like a wild man and things were thrown all over the place. So many things had to be thrown away and replaced.

At this point I am questioning all of my life choices! I am wondering if God is trying to beat me over the head and convince me that Fleetwood may not have been the best decision I’ve ever made. Am I making lemonade or did I just buy a lemon?
