Days 7-9...Living in Limbo

On day 7, Monday morning we woke up at the hotel excited for a free breakfast and a swim in the pool. Unfortunately breakfast was some prepackaged pastries and bad coffee, plus the pool didn't open until 2pm. We later found out we were staying at the worst hotel in Visalia. Sometimes being cheap doesn't pay off!

We decided to find a better hotel, which ended up being cheaper, while we waited for word on Fleetwood. Once we figured out Uber and checked in to our new hotel, we hit the pool.

The repair shop called, and gave us the bad news! He figured it was the transmission! After asking if that was why there was fuel in the exhaust, he didn't know and was going to check on it and get back to us.

By check out time Tuesday morning we figured out we wouldn't be going anywhere soon, so we booked another night. The word came that the repair shop couldn't fix the transmission and we needed to come pick up Fleetwood. We got Another Uber to get a rental car and headed back to Woodlake to get Fleetwood.

While trying to figure out a plan to get Fleetwood to a new shop in Visalia, we found a great park for the kids to play at. Originally we thought Fleetwood would have to be towed, but we limped her the 30 miles from Woodlake to Visalia, near our hotel. She wouldn't go over 45mph so it took a while.

At the new shop the guy took one look at it and confirmed what I thought! That it was a fuel system issue, not the transmission!!!!!! He is going to go through the whole fuel and air system in the morning to see if he can find the issue.

We packed up Fleetwood, donated all my rapidly defrosting freezer meals to the new repair guy, and came back to the hotel to do laundry, reorganize and come up with a new plan.

Having lots of food going bad, we went to local park and BBQd while the girls played. Followed by more swimming at the hotel.

Wednesday morning we checked out of the hotel, having all the hope in the world Fleetwood would be fixed or answers would be found. So we hit the mall and back to the park to play while we waited for word. We went by the shop late in the afternoon and he still hadn't pinpointed the problem, but found lots of little issues. Such as a rodent chewed fuel regulator line, smashed O2 sensors, and a blown fuse that was preventing the check engine codes from being read. Of course none of that actually fixed anything.

We went to dinner and he kept working on the puzzle that is Fleetwood. After dinner he called us back to the shop with answers...FINALLY! It is the computer!

With some answers and a semi plan for Fleetwood we can make a plan and get out of limbo!
