Day 2 - Lassen Volcanic National Park

Old Station, CA to Oroville, CA via Lassen Volcanic NP

153.6 miles

5.5 hours

The carpet was still very soggy this morning, and we the girls played a great game of the floor is lava climbing on everything. Thankfully though there was no new water!

We left Hat Creek about noon and headed the 10 miles to Lassen Volcanic National Park's northwest entrance. Sadly only 10 miles of road were open after the record snowfall this year. It was a quick tour driving the 10 miles in and back out the northwest entrance. The original plan was to drive through from the northwest entrance to the southwest entrance. A lot of the more exciting attractions are in the southwestern corner of the park, most of which is still closed as well.

We got to add a new sticker to the window of Fleetwood!

We stopped on our way south to vacuum up as much water as possible at a car wash, a $1 well spent!

We made it to Oroville, California for the night and stayed at a beautiful KOA at the Feather Falls Casino. Once we got settled we had dinner outside in the warm weather.

Lindsay tried to help Ellie learn how to ride her big girl bike.

And we ended the evening with a family swim.
